Super Famicom voicer-kun games

Post by KingMike » 23 Jul 2013 15:07

Koei released four games for the SFC with this controller port accessory, which was effectively an audio CD player remote that allowed the game to control a player's audio CD player (as a means to get around the cartridge memory limits).
The games were EMIT Volumes 1, 2 and 3, and Angelique Voice Fantasy.
Each came with an audio CD, and from what I understand, the CD should be considered part of the game.
I haven't played any of the games really, but I heard the CDs were an important part of the EMIT games (containing voiced game dialogue), but less important for Angelique Voice Fantasy (still considered game audio, but optional).

I know some other SFC games included a CD (Makeruna! Makendou 2, Final Fight Guy, Marchen Adventure Cotton 100%), but I believe those would be considered bonus material and not part of the game.
(I did backup my Makendou 2 CD anyways, though I didn't get the CD with the other games. More popular, and thus the CD raises the value of them much more.)

Thanks for sharing.

How is CD audio accurately ripped/preserved these days though?
