Questions about Sega Mega Drive dumping

Post by wiggy2k » 26 Jan 2018 12:06

Hi guys,

Have started collecting Mega drive / Genesis as cart only, haven't got the room to store the full packaged games unfortunately.
currently at around 250 titles so have a way to go. but figured I might as well dump them as I go.

Am I right in assuming this method of dumping produces correct dumps?
https://www.retrodev.com/transfer.html

How does it work around here?
presumably pretty much the entire MD/Gens library is already dumped, is it worth me posting here with verifications of those? board pictures?
or are you only interested in anything (if any) I find that don't match the DAT?

Also is there an up to date undumped list (yes i know the forum search exists) the latest i could find was from March 2016

Heyy, Jackal here from Redump

There's the Retrode (2), but it's not in stock currently: https://www.dragonbox.de/en/71-retrode- ... results=15

TossEAC bought my Retrode 1 some years ago. He probably isn't using it so he might let you borrow it.

Hey man, how’s things?

Thanks, that retrode 2 looks like a useful little tool, will get myself one of those when back in stock. Probably Keira’s a little faster than over LPT.

As for me the most easy tool to dump is FlashKit programmer MD from krikzz (all you need - PC or notebook with USB ports).
Dump process takes 1-4 seconds.

Official link is: https://krikzz.com/store/home/38-flashk ... er-md.html

This is not just a dump device, but a programmer too - you can write/rewrite special carts (FlashKit cart MD) using it.

I'm using it several years - it's ok! ))
