According to convention only dumps from system hardware components can be tagged as [BIOS]. This doesn't include hardware from third party devices (however it includes hardware from official system peripheals). And never dumps coming from media to be run on the system (cart, discs, cassette, floppy, etc).

ah and just curious, what's the % of verified dumps right now?

Hi Y~K.

According to CMPro statistics (based on "verified" status from DAT):

(1685 / 3438) * 100 = 49%
Hi! And congratz for your promotion btw. :D
Wow dats shows verified now? I guess I missed a couple of episodes. :P

Dumps with mirrored data are overdumps.

Not necessarily. BootGod and I verified that in a couple of 16Mb MaskROMs, the mirrored data was actually burned into the ROM, which means the Mask was 16Mb. If the Mask applied on the 16Mb chip was 12Mb, the ROM dump would still be 16Mb but padded with 0x00 or 0xff on the last 4Mb.

The manufacturer probably burned mirrored data because it doesn't affect the internal checksum, and when a 12Mb (for example) game is conceived, they don't know if it will be burned on 8+4 or 16 chips since it depends on the chips/burning costs, etc...

I have deleted all my stuff so I can't dig out examples right now, but I am absolutely positive that several dumps in No-Intro SNES database are underdumps.

I haven't been hanging around here much, so I apologize if this has already been answered but: is anybody keeping track of who verified what?

Also, unless, I'm missing something, the current Dump Status spreadsheet doesn't list anywhere near as many ROMs verified as last May's Dump Status spreadsheet. Any idea what's up with that?
