I was just updating all of my DATs (I haven't in about 6 months) and when I load them up in ROMCENTER (I am choosing the RC DATs) it says:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warning Summary
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ClrMamePro warnings:

Missing forcenodump

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fix Summary
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ROM information that was changed:

Status

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fix Details
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And it is showing all of my dumps as green with an x on them?

I've been having an issue too, when I try to update a RomCenter database, RomCenter throws this error:

**Error :arithmetic exception, numeric overflow, or string truncation
string right truncation
Arithmetic overflow or division by zero has occurred.
GDS Code: 335544321 - SQL Code: -802 - Error Code: 1

This happened to me on the 3DS dat. Do you get this error as well?

I tried the DS one just a second ago and it worked as it should. Were you getting this on the 3DS dat as well?

I should note, I an using the ClrMamePro dat, since RomCenter can read them. I will have to try the RomCenter one, I usually just download the CM dats since they are default.

I just tested the DS DAT and I did get the same message but I don't have the problems with the files showing an x across them. Strange.

xuom2,
I emailed you two dats, one of them is from 1-22 and works, the other is from 2-8 and doesn't. I am not sure exactly what point they stopped working, but it is somewhere between the two.

Using RomCenter 3.7.1, I create a brand new database for each dat file. The output for each is below.

Nintendo - Nintendo 3DS (20170122-153357_CM).dat:
Code:

I have mostly been working with the 3DS dats lately. I tried updating some of the other dats too, to see if they would work. Seemed to be hit or miss.

Working:
Code:
FDS
Gameboy Advance
Nintendo64

Not Working:
Code:
Gameboy
Gameboy Color

I can't tell if this is the issue that gamecaptor is having or not, it doesn't seem to be, but I wondered if it was when I first saw his issue.

Just updated two DATS, Nintendo - Nintendo 3DS (20170214-005316_RC) & Nintendo - Game Boy Advance (20170213-182849_RC), both kicked out the message below (in RomCenter). The 3DS ROMs show the green x across them, the GBA look normal.

Missing forcenodump

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fix Summary

RC datfiles got RC2 header to better credit datters. The upcoming version of RC will support this old format.
In the meanwhile, I am experimenting the RC3 XML format and I am still missing something. That forcenodump warning is easy to fix, it is like CM.
I will compare the working datfiles and fix mine, will let you know here.

Thank you xuom2!

Just a check-in. I tried the most recent 3DS DAT, Nintendo - Nintendo 3DS (20170223-183731_RC), and the problem still exists.

Hi

Someone reported that on the romcenter forum: the rom tag is missing the trailing slash. According to xml rules, we must have <rom name="...EF5B43" />
Is it a bug in datomatic ?
Can it be fixed ?

<game name="[BIOS] Atari 7800 (USA)">
<description>[BIOS] Atari 7800 (USA)</description>
<rom name="[BIOS] Atari 7800 (USA).a78" size="4096" crc32="5D13730C" md5="0763F1FFB006DDBE32E52D497EE848AE" sha1="D9D134BB6B36907C615A594CC7688F7BFCEF5B43">
</game>

Thanks

I will drop both deprecated CM and RC formats, and will adopt the generic XML.
The recent output should be better (now I've checked it with datutil output). Still have to check nodump flag.

Yup, looks better. I just checked the 3DS DAT and it's not reporting any more issues. Thanks for fixing it!

i suspect now "nodump" and "cm_header" are correctly implemented too.

Yep, this seems to have fixed it, I didn't have any issues creating a new 3DS db with the current dat. Thanks for your hard work :)

EDIT: After having some more time to check some other databases, I'm still getting the same error on the GB dat. So I guess it isn't fully fixed yet.
