[SNES] Several Missing

Post by hydr0x » 12 Aug 2014 11:21

I have several SNES files that are not recognized by the current DAT. Most of them seem to be prototypes not yet added to the database. Please note that I did not keep track of where I got these from, so don't blindly add them ;)

Thanks for the reminder! I'll add some of these when I have time (and after I do a little research on them). I've been thinking about this place; no worries.

However: The Super bases Loaded 3 Rev A did once reside in the Dat-o-matic. It was removed when doubts of its existence grew, so I won't be adding it back unless someone can first prove it truly exists.

Hi !

After checking my old SNES cartridge collection, it looks like 7 of them have a label which is either missing or unverified in the datomatic...

Super Star Wars ==> SNSP-V4-FAH
Exhaust Heat ==> SNSP-EH-FAH
Secret of Evermore ==> SNSP-AEOF-FRA
Mega Man X2 ==> SNSP-ARXP-EUR
Super Mario Kart ==> SNSP-MK-FAH
Illusion of Time ==> SNSP-JG-FRA/SFRA
FIFA International Soccer ==> SNSP-84-FAH

Would it be interesting to go for a dump ?

Anyway, I'm currently not a dumper at all. I live in France (Paris area). Is there a known dumper near me ?

Cheers

I'm sure someone in Europe would be willing to dump and verify these. If not, you could ship them my way (US), and I'll dump them verify them, and send them back. It would definitely be cheaper to keep it in Europe though.

Hi !

Thanks for your reply. Well, I think I'm gonna try to dump them myself.

What is the best modern way to dump european SNES cartridges without any error to respect the No-Intro standards ?

I found on the Web that the Retrode or the Super UFO Pro 8 could do the job.

Which one is the best ? Is there anther option ?

Cheers

I would trust the Retrode by miles over the Super UFO Pro 8.. but that's just me xD

Sorry for the late reply. Virtually all of those prototypes in the OP were made available on SNES Central. They should have been listed in one of my threads. :p

Hi !

I finally received my Retrode and proceeded with the dump of those 7 cartridges.

Didn't expect that dumping an SNES game was so easy... You connect the Retrode with the cartridge inserted on a USB port, it is recognised as a USB key, you drag & drop the .sfc file... end of the story. 5 minutes for 7 games.

I going to create a dedicated subject with the results in the New Dumps & Redumps section !!

Cheers
