New SPS Atari ST Dumps

Post by Buddybenj » 25 Feb 2015 23:48

Go to the Atari ST section here: http://softpres.org/games

Their database has 330 games that haven't been added to No-Intro's database. Recently, SPS has dumped many Atari ST games and added them to their database. No-Intro should update their database to address these additions.

I believe there's a greater emphasis on adding games that have been dumped and released rather than dumped and hoarded.

I asked SPS to update and release their downloadable database about a month ago, - I'm still waiting! :o
Without it, all new entries would have to be added to DoM as nodump entries which is a complete waste of time. :sdrop:

Hmmm. I'm only finding 3729 entries in a HTML viewing. I think this is what we already have datted.

According to Softpres online, there should be 6212. This would cover CPC and other new systems.

I have a little plan for this, I myself have a kryoflux unit, and im sure others here aswell has one, why dont we buy the hoarded games dump them with kryoflux, submit them and get the IPF in return, since these are already dumped we will get them instantly.

This for example has been hoarded for years. It isnt that expensive, will probably buy this myself, but cant do it completely alone.

Thoughts? Good or bad idea?

Dumping undumped (or hoarded) games is always a good idea. :)

I've heard that many people have submitted games, only for them to be hoarded without an ipf being released.

'Allegedly', the tools needed to convert kyroflux raw data to an IPF can be found. You're welcome to try, but unfortunately I can't help due to lack of funding and currently, no spare time.

I looked and found this: http://forum.kryoflux.com/viewtopic.php?t=324

I think it's what Connie was talking about.
