Great initative. :) When you write "Unreleased?", is that your speculation, or did you find some clues supporting this?
Some of the games from the 2nd comparison so far are listed as cancelled on gamefaqs or on other websites, while others are unconfirmed revisions.

But there were also a lot of titles in the HNPdata that were missing in the FileList.csv that were released and matched No-Intro, for example: The Legend of Zelda (Europe) Rev 0, so this means we can't simply discard any of the 150 remaining titles and they all have to be checked / researched thoroughly.

In case of different checksums between any of the 2 sheets and No-Intro, we will need to either confirm that one of the checksums from the sheets can be recreated by adding FF padding or repeating the ROM data, or rule out a bad dump.

I will try to finish the 2nd comparison and update the 2nd post sometime this week.

I don't doubt that that there are some unrelased games or revisions listed. Beauty and the Beast (USA) for one.

It's nice when they give detailed descriptions of the changes, like for KOE-QK-1 = Daikoukai Jidai (Japan) (Rev A)
  • Revised contents · · ·
    1) BUG for the information set processing of the event
    2) Three disaster events occur except in the dangerous sea area, storms, disappearance of the ship · entangled with the algae
    3) Your own fleet goes over the land
4 ) Ship on board your ship disappears
※ Licensee name change (KOEI KOEI Co., Ltd. KOE Corporation)

BAP-63-1 = My Life My Love - Boku no Yume - Watashi no Negai (Japan) (Rev A)
  • Amendment · "After marriage, my wife is 24-40 years old · When there are less than 4 children and stops in the happening area, a pregnancy event will occur with a certain probability, but if you start players with girls, after the event of pregnancy, children I am not born. "Fixed BUG.

Small update: I finished adding the USA and Europe stuff from the HNPdata: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3228&p=20209#p20209
Still about 50 Japan titles left to add.

IMHO it would be best to move the titles from the bottom list to a separate "unconfirmed" list in the wiki. Most (all?) of these titles don't have release dates mentioned in the sheet and are most likely unreleased. It might be worth checking if any of them got an exclusive digital (e.g. Virtual Console) release.

Besides the undumped stuff, there are (luckily only) 3 dumps left with a checksum mismatch that need to be checked:

Athena (Japan)Program.bin [SFX-AT] = bad dump? Nintendo has 330E / 66D2 checksums
Seicross (Japan)Program.bin [NBF-SE] = Not in FileList.csv. HNPdata has 0AF7 checksum and comment: "No PRG data due to master ROM failure"
Super Dyna'mix Badminton (Japan)Character.bin [VAP-BN] = bad dump? Nintendo has 0554 checksum

A number of those are just database changes, outside of the actual game.
In the Koei example, it is just changing the (legal?) spelling of their name from kanji to katakana.
I guess at some point Infogrames bought Ocean's IP, as that is a common listing in the SNES data.

Bootgod informed me that all Roger Clemens Baseball carts in his database are currently -1 PRG and CHR versions. So the one linked from ebay is most likely the version we already have. Strange enough that -1 appear to match the revision 0 in their sheet. So what might be the revision 1 they list?

Bird Week (Japan) (Beta) = PRG ROM matches normal dump, CHR ROM is probably a bad dump? (fixed now)

ototo redumped Super Dynamix Badminton because we changed it in DoM to the previous "overdump":

http://ototo2009.blog40.fc2.com/

It matches the one in the spreadsheet now and the "overdumped" one in the database we recently replaced. So he confirms he made a mistake before and the old one in DoM was an underdump. 0554 crc for the CHR is fine.

Ok nice, so I was comparing against the old bad dump, but the new one is indeed correct and has the correct CHR.

Hoshi no Kirby - Yume no Izumi no Monogatari (Japan) (Rev A) [HVC-KI-1]
The Wii U VC extracted ROM matches rev. 0. Why wouldn't Nintendo use the newest revision if it exists?
Bootgod informed me that all Roger Clemens Baseball carts in his database are currently -1 PRG and CHR versions. So the one linked from ebay is most likely the version we already have. Strange enough that -1 appear to match the revision 0 in their sheet. So what might be the revision 1 they list?
Updated the wiki to reflect this and removed the pics.

Weird that was a very late SFC game.
"Arkon" / アーコン (Japan) [BPS-AB]
Probably Archon.
Banana Prince (Europe) [PAL-BN]
Do you mean an English version? The game was released in German.
"Famamikon Mukakazashi New Shikijima Front - Part 2" / ふぁみこんむかしばなし 新鬼ヶ島 前・後編 (Japan) [HVC-ON]
Famicom Mukashibanashi Shin Onigashima Zenkoupen. They planned a complete cartridge release of the game?
"Fast Pointing Two-stage Morita Shogi 2" / 早指し 二段森田将棋 2 (Japan) [HVC-2M]
aka that Super Famicom Japanese chess game that needed an overpowered expansion chip to run.
Though I have vaguely heard of a Famicom version being intended. Wonder how well it would've worked.
"Mario Bros." (Japan) [HVC-B2]
I wonder if what the same version released in Europe as the "Classic Serie" version, but that code is NES-MC-NOE.

I also looked at the carts I have (though I lack NES dumping hardware to check).
Sadly no undumped revisions.
The only thing of note is that, despite the Rev B of Zelda supposedly dated to 1988, my Rev A gray cart is dated to 1992.

I remember they didn't use the latest versions of Pacman (Famicom) and Tsukikomori (SFC) for unknown reasons.

I checked and the revision of Pac-Man seems to do just two things: fixes a typo ("CHRACTER" on the demo), and the one other changed byte ($2E31 headered), changes the pointer to initialize a block of data in (probably sound-related, just watching how it changes in FCEUX) to five bytes earlier in RAM (from $0625 to $0620) for some reason.

One bizarre thing I noticed about my Kid Icarus: it's a three-screw with flathead screws rather than gamebits.
I suppose the most logical assumption is that someone opened it at some point and replaced the screws.

Though I suspect Kid Icarus would have been one of the earlier 3-screw games, as it seems to be from about that timeframe (early 1988 is when I estimated they changed it, based on a list I found of games released in both 5-screw and 3-screw cases).

Puzznic (Japan)Program.bin [DTF-ZH] = bad dump? Nintendo has 07F8 checksum
Puzznic has two entries in the sheet - both sharing the same CHR 4547. The one with PRG 07F8 "DTF-ZH" appears to be unreleased while the "IGS-9U" seems to be matching the available dump. See also the "X" in the first colum for the DTF version.
Seicross (Japan)Program.bin [NBF-SE] = Not in FileList.csv. HNPdata has 0AF7 checksum and comment: "No PRG data due to master ROM failure"
I don't quite understand what is wrong with this one? The CHR-0 and PRG-0 entries match the checksums of the "non rev 1" version. Be aware we have two revisions in the dat - one doesn't seem to be in the list so don't get confused by these. The CHR-0 is marked red though for some reason. How the CHRCRC in the last column is calculated is beyond my understanding.
