Some japanese friend willing to help me ?
There are still a lot of mistakes in the latest goodsnes...
Take this for example:
????????????????????
goodsnes: Asai Shinbun Rensai Kato Ichi-ni-san Shougi Shingiru
correct: Asahi Shinbun Rensai: Katou Hifumi Kudan Shougi Shingiryuu
It happened that Ichi-ni-san it's actually the name of Mr. Katou (Hifumi)...
chreil@racsa.co.cr if you want to help me...
Thanks

Hmmm, a SNES-dat? I think that NSRT is really a perfect atlernative to goodsnes already. However, keep the good work.

I agree that NSRT is a good tool but even the english cart name are wrong in it:
nsrt: Donkey Kong Country 2 (v1.0) (U)
realname: Diddy's Kong Quest (v1.0) (U)
My point is that I would like a dat with correct snes game name and it doesn't exist right now...
I've already checked all the jap carts up to letter G right now, just need someone who can confirm my romaji...

Estopolis or Estpolis ?
In the gba dat we are using Estopolis...
The Chou in all the Dragon Ball are written in Kanji so maybe it\'s better to not translate them ?
I think that only the katakana should be translated...

Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon...

Bazoe! Mahou Sekai

It was called Bazoe on several japanese websites or somewhere written in the game.
Birume Sentai Bara Yarou

No, it's called Sailormoon. Check "Sailormoon (F)", offical Sailormoon website, etc

Reading is "Birume". See titlescreen.
Title screen say ?? meanings:
?? ???? (n) delicious or gourmet food
Reading is Shounin. See boxart.
Same as before there are 2 Kanji and the meanings are:
?? ????? (n) trader, shopkeeper, merchant, (P)
?? ???? (n) trader, shopkeeper, merchant
?? ???? (n) trader, shopkeeper, merchant
?? ????? (n) trader, shopkeeper, merchant
?? ???? (n) trader, shopkeeper, merchant
How do you choose Shounin ?
Sailor Moon check this sites:

Otherwise you should call Sailorstar too...

Birume Sentai Bara Yarou
Sorry your right in the title screen there is a hiragana title too.
Still "Birume" it's wrong the hiragana say "Gurume" meaning "Gourmet"
so the correct title is "Gourmet Sentai - Bara Yarou"
Dharma Doujou is correct, sorry.
About Estpolis - Estopolis...
? ? ? ? ? ?
E SU TO PO RI SU
E S(U) TO PO LI S(U)
so Estopolis should be the right one...
About Shounin yo, Taishi wo Idake!!

Action Pachio:

Search "?????" with Google and look at the directory/filenames. It's always called Pachio_kun, Pachio, Patio, etc and never Pachi Otto.

Gourmet Sentai - Bara Yarou:
Yep, it's "Gourmet". Sorry for my mistake.

Sailormoon:
Your posted sites don't look like official sites.
Here is the offical site of the (probably crappy lol) live series: http://sailormoon.channel.or.jp/
As you can see it's called Sailormoon.

Estpolis:
The titlelogo says Estpolis.

Shounin yo, Taishi wo Idake!!:

Shounin and Estpolis are ok for me...

If we use Sailormoon than we should use Sailorstar too...

don't worry about estpolis- i made the same mistake (as i had only ever read the japanese title, ignoring the english text)

http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/data/18517.html
gamefaqs is wrong. plain and simple

even this link (a japanese one) is wrong
http://www.fuchu.or.jp/~kazuhiro/gam...C&gcode=G01141

there is no 'kun' in the title (i have the boxart to check)
otto would not be the reading used in this context.
the 'kun' in the other games (pachio-kun 1+2 etc) is present however.
either way ??? is read PACHIO, both the pachi and the o are parts of ONE name, hence the kun in the other games.
if you want to check, check here
http://www.ec-shock.com/g-point/newdb/
that goes for the ichi ni san / hifumi check too (it's hifumi btw)

*Computer Nouryoku Kaiseki: Ultra Baken
*Computer Nou Riki Kaiseki - Ultra Baken
the first one is correct
the title displays NOU in bold and as a diff kanji from the normal nouryoku ?? but this is merely a play on words.

*EMIT Vol. 2: Meigake no Tabi
*Emit Vol.2 - Meigaki no Tabi
both wrong

Inochi not Mei
Inochi wo Kakeru = to risk one's life

Emit Vol.2 - Inochigake no Tabi

4 Nin Shougi

not JIN it means 4 player/person thus NIN.

Shounin yo...

the reading is IDAKE not DAKE same kanji different meanings. don't just rely on the dictionary, you need to look at things in context. check the meanings of TAISHI, DAKU and IDAKU. (in fact i just checked my dictionary and under taishi there is an example using IDAKE)

another couple of points
1) Blackthorne - Fukushuu no Kuroki Kyoku
why Kuroki Kyoku ?
This might be:
BlackThorne - Fukushuu no Kokuki Toge (Thorn)
I don't have the box art with the subtitle (is it in the game?) but ?? is read KUROki not KOKUki. the rest i can't confirm without seeing the subtitle.
@JC
why in your list are some games titles translated and others just romanised?
eg Haji Mari no Forest, Famicom Collection
I don't have the box art to check, but the title says
Hajimari no Mori, Famicom Bunko

Hokuto no Ken series next
Hokuto no Ken 5 - Tenma Ryuuseiden - Ai Zetsushou
either Ai Zetsu Shou or Aizetsu Shou
Hokuto no Ken 7 - Seiken Retsuden - Denshou Mono e no Michi
Denshousha no Denshou Mono

no offence to you, as i'm sure all this must have taken a long time (i should know as i'm STILL working on my own goodsnes corrected dat), but this just creates a lot more work

things like the ?/wo/o and ?/he/e

are very minor points, but in correcting one lot of mistakes you make more it denegrates the hard work you've put in.

as already noted, nge is doing a sfc/snes dat so maybe you should work together/cooperate?

all the best whatever you decide to do, but remember, checking a list with as many names on as there are sfc games is a lot of work even for a japanese person

Hi mukimuki,
about the e/he - o/wo - wa/ha
I think they should be the first way if you want to read the title in the right way, but this is just my opinion.
A lot of titles have been partially translated, not by me, but all over the net,
see goodsnes and others.
If you ask me I would like to translate only those words written in katakana;
ngefreak seems to have a different opinion for example:
Drago
n Ball Z: Chou Butouden / Dragon Ball Z: Super Butouden.
The Forest/Mori Collection/Bunko was my mistake.

I don\'t have any boxart so I must read the titles directly on the screen and sometime this can be really hard, more if you take into account that I\'ve only started to learn some japanese 3 weeks ago...

That\'s why I asked if some japanese friend can help me with the romanization...
Maybe with your and ngefreak help we can do a correct list together.
Anyway this is the list updated up to \"M\".

????????????????????????

can you, please, explain me why
juu roku be i

? ? ? ? and not

juu roku he i

and why

? ? ? and not

just like in "Chou Makai Mura", "Chou Godzilla", "Chou Makai Taisen! Dorabocchan", etc.
that's why in my opinion we should use "Chou", otherwise thay should be all "Supe

dragonball z- check the title screens- the furigana for the kanji (ie th way the game makers intend you to read the kanji) says super ????
as for goemon, the first 6 kanji are a name, thus the funny reading. if you check yagyu jubei's name in kanji (from the samurai spirits games) i believe he uses the same (or a very similar kanji)
as for katame/gatame the use of a dakuon (") is decided by the previous sound from memory, anyway :P i haven't studied in a long time now so much of this is just done by instinct :P
however, if you need to check the readings, i suggest that link i posted above
