Could this be a GB classic undumped...?

Post by kiddocabbusses » 10 Jan 2015 22:41

A friend of mine asked me to get someone to investigate/possibly purchase this.

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Game-Boy-GB-Memo ... 2344b2557c

To summarize, he told me that usually GB memory carts did not usually contain GBC-only compatible games, so he suspects that this version of Batman Beyond may be a GB-B&W variant.

(Or it could be mislabeled, but I wouldn't know.)

That should be the NP version I already cataloged: http://datomatic.no-intro.org/index.php ... =47&n=0100

I got my Batman Beyond copy from a memory cartridge as well, so it's definitely not true that there are only B&W-compatible games on there. This PDF from Nintendo says as much. Top right corner has regular DMG greyed out, so it's only ever CGB-only.
I think the other exclusive for the GB Memory Cartridge is Balloon Fight GB, which is also for CGB-compatible.

The Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. DX was a NP-exclusive GBC-only game.
Maybe Daikatana, though it sounds questionable if that was actually released (the Japanese version was one of the games the NP site had instructions for). Would be NP-exclusive if it was released.

Ah, you are correct: http://datomatic.no-intro.org/index.php ... =47&n=1147

Balloon Fight GB and Super Mario Land 3 came as pre-written games, though.

Ah, he'll probably be unfortunate to hear that, but thanks for clearing that up. Sorry to waste the time there.
