Where are the SNES CD-ROM BIOS prototype in the DAT?

Post by John Enigma » 29 Aug 2018 01:26

As far as I know, the Super NES CD-ROM BIOS proto has been circulating around the Internet since 2016, and I'm actually surprised that No-Intro still haven't managed to dat it.

The source for these BIOS come from here, thanks to LuigiBlood.

^^That link also includes another proto ROM called Sound Factory, whatever that is.^^ Idk if that one has been datted.

My question still stands: why hasn't the BIOS been datted yet?

You don't know what Sound Factory is?

It's a canceled Nintendo game that was like a music sequel to Mario Paint.
I think Sound Factory was the planned Japanese name, and Sound Fantasy was going to be the western name, or was it reversed?

We got one version dumped, but it seemed that someone close to Nintendo owned a more complete looking prototype, and demoed it at a tribute to Gumpei Yokoi a few years ago. I recall there was video footage posted.

Hmm. Interesting. Kinda like what would later be Wii Music.

Okay.

But my point still stands: why isn't the SNES CD-ROM Proto Bios available in the DatOMatic?

I've checked again, and the BIOS is still not available in the DAT.

Weird. I was trying to search it on the Dat's search bar, and nothing appeared. And yes, I was in the SNES section tab.

That being said, the search algorithm system of DatOMatic seriously need to be fixed.

Thanks for showing me.

xuom2: Sorry for the delay. Replied. :3

John Enigma: You're welcome. Sorry for the grumpy-looking reply. I was in a major hurry. I haven't had a lot of time for most things lately.

Just saw this thread and I already knew and that the SNES CD prototype was in the dat but is the Sound Factory dump from the link in OP's post in the database too?

If it is then I can finally delete it from my non No-Intro collection.

Edit: nvm, it's in the database!
