Re: GBA undumped and unreleased
Thanks, I guess we can rule out Spyro as being a ROM revision then. Let's make a list of unlikely candidates for a ROM update.BigFred wrote:Nice list!
At least Spyro got no new stamp
http://cgi.ebay.com/Spyro-Season-Ice-Ga ... 4cf754f25e

I found some cases with two digits stamps which I didn't post earlier.
Dexter's Laboratory - Deesaster Strikes! [AGB-ADLE-USA-1]
Midway's Greatest Arcade Hits [AGB-AM3E-USA-1]
Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder [AGB-ASCE-USA-1]
And these have the same Activsion logo update as Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder:
Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer [AGB-AS3E-USA-1]
Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX [AGB-AHOE-USA-1]
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 [AGB-ATHE-USA-1]
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 [AGB-AT3E-USA-1]
Super Dropzone [AGB-AZNE-USA-1]
And other Ignition releases like :
International Karate Plus [AGB-A3KE-USA-1]
Monster! Bass Fishing [AGB-A4BE-USA-1]
Tetris Worlds [AGB-ATWE-USA-1] New label design
Top Gun - Firestorm Advance [AGB-ATGE-USA-1] (Mastiff) This has been dumped and found to be the same as original Titus release.

Re: GBA undumped and unreleased
99% revised labels includes revised boxes and manuals. With the more recent systems (GBA on) it seems games got the -1 attached to all components even if only one was updated. For older systems like the SNES most often only the actually changed part got a -1. So if the cart label was updated, only the cart got -1. With GBA this seems different, if the box changed all parts get the -1, at least more often than with SNES.

I'll hedge my bets with this. Curiosity makes me curious.ATV - Quad Power Racing [AGB-AQRE-USA-2] (Crave)

Having it in hand, it definitely looks to be the same game. Same imprint # for revision (a 1.0 indication) and nothing appears to be changed in game (still has Acclaim in the startup sequence). Haven't gotten to dump it proper yet, but will work on that as time allows. And if I find my equipment again.

Yesterday I had a chat with xuom. Kim Possible and Treasure Planet were new revisions. Herbie was v1.0 though. And Lilo and Stitch was the wrong cart - the seller delieverd the initial version, not -2 as shown in the auction.

It's good that at least two are new revisions.BigFred wrote:Yesterday I had a chat with xuom. Kim Possible and Treasure Planet were new revisions. Herbie was v1.0 though. And Lilo and Stitch was the wrong cart - the seller delieverd the initial version, not -2 as shown in the auction.

Did you get a chance to dump the cart yet?Sir VG wrote:I'll hedge my bets with this. Curiosity makes me curious.ATV - Quad Power Racing [AGB-AQRE-USA-2] (Crave)

Re: GBA undumped and unreleased
Just a small update: I found the old discussion about aussie releases in an archive
http://nintendo-database.the-chronicles ... t-231.html
It was supposed to be Magical Quest 3, not 1. http://www.cdwow.com.au/games/disneys-m ... dp/4756191
Another one
Pokemon Fire Red - TRU Download Cart (U)
I guess this is pretty much obsolete. There is no special cart like this. From what I gathered what you had to do is take your Fire Red cartridge and your Wireless adapter that usually came bundled with the game (not the player's choice version) to Toys r us or gamestop and download "Mew" to your game. The wireless adapter can be used to exchange some stuff among players and so on. But this will only affect your savegame of course and there is actually no special ROM image we can get here. Excuse me if I'm mistaken.

Re: GBA undumped and unreleased
Finally I found information about the mysterious Fire Emblem special editions.
http://serenesforest.net/general/download.html
The maps are special downloads for winners of a competition by the V-jump magazine. You had to send in your cart to get these trial maps.
Grizel Execution Court map (50 winners)
V-type and J-type maps (10 winners)
The page also mentions a fourth map "Defeat Bandits" - also listed here http://fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/Trial_Maps
So it's merely DLC and not a unique new ROM image? How this download works - I don't know. It has to be some kind of savegame-hacking job as described for the other games just that the map is somehow included into the savestate. It shouldn't be too large judging from the pics and the fact each winner just got one of these 4 maps seems to support the idea there is space reserved for a single map here.
