Merged undumped lists

Post by BigFred » 24 Jan 2009 13:52

I decided to compile a document which contains all undumped lists we did so far except for NDS because it changes too often.

I've been working on reviewing the Sega Game Gear list on Wikipedia. If my research is correct, we're also missing the following Game Gear dumps:

Baku Baku - Europe
Championship Hockey - Europe
Cheese Cat-Astrophe with Speedy Gonzales - USA
CJ Elephant Fugitive - USA, Europe
Cosmic Spacehead - USA
F1 World Championship Edition - Europe
Fantastic Dizzy - USA
FIFA Soccer 95 - USA
Incredible Crash Dummies - Japan
Junction - Japan
Jungle Strike - USA
Marko - USA
NBA Jam T.E. - Japan
Pete Sampras Tennis - USA
Power Drive - Europe
Robocop 3 - Japan
Scratch Golf - USA
The Simpsons: Bart vs. the World - Japan
Sonic Drift Racing - Europe
Super Golf - USA
Super Kick Off - Europe (This was a European, not a Japanese game)
T2: The Arcade Game - Japan
Terminator 2: Judgment Day - Japan
Woody Pop - Japan
WWF WrestleMania: Steel Cage Challenge - USA
Zool - Europe

I'll double check and provide box scan links when I get home.

Thanks!

[Edit:]
I have checked now.

Most of these have proof of some sort on Video Game Rebirth:
http://www.vgrebirth.org/games/search.a ... =13&page=1
Typically, box scans (at least front), many have cart scans, and other proof.

From what they show, Super Kick Off is European, not Japanese. So, if the version we have is truly a Japanese version, then we're missing the European version, and they're missing proof of the Japanese version.

The only game listed here that they do not have proof for is Power Drive. And GameFaqs also lists this game, but does not provide any scans. I've seen this game in several lists, but no proof of its existence. So, for now, I'm going to take it off of my list until proof can be found.

[2nd Edit:]
Based on the list created by an avid ebay collector (see discussion below), I've made a few updates to this list.

Yes, I see that. To me, it appeared to be...

"Hey, this is what I've seen cross ebay over the last several years. I think this might be correct, but I'm not certain." (paraphrased, of course)

With GameFaqs and Video Game Rebirth, at least people have posted box scans of the games. Sure, GameFaqs and VGR could be just as incomplete, but when they have something listed, at least they have some proof to back it up.

No, it's not like that. Iirc that username is a known GG collector. Scans do not back up a released games (see dozens 32X and SNES scans of unreleased games). Also, both sites are likely incomplete, they are for every system I researched.

edit:
and a simple google research shows he's indeed the collector he claims to be (see his introduction to the list.. heck, he even knows about Tec Toy in there)

an item by him:
http://www.ukresistance.co.uk/2008/02/c ... stmas.html

He's at SMSPower and selling even Protos:
http://www.smspower.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9395

He's also got a lot of feedback at eBay and has been trading quite a few GG items:
http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI ... d=brynaldo

Seriously, I'd bet that list is the best source you'll find. But if you want to get serious about finding missing dumps you'll have to document any game by a photo anyways...

I went through this guys list and matched up what he had to what I was already showing. The two lists were not far off. I've made some corrections where applicable to what's shown above. In addition to what I had listed above, it looks like where also missing this game gear release:

Micro Machines - USA

List updated. I haven't checked the GG info really to be honest. Will do somewhere in the near future. Atm I'm more concerned about systems we are dealing with ourselves.

Interesting find on Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_War_2003_(video_game)

Gives another Mega-Drive / Genesis game to look for...

Also, although I understand the desire not to dump it yet, "Beggar Prince" should be listed as a game that has not been dumped yet.

Proof of Iraq War 2003 existing as a cart? There's a binary for it since ages (look in Goodgen 3.00), but AFAIK it's a basement-made project created with this http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4175, no place for it in No-Intro unless rules have changed again in the last year :)

Other than Beggar Prince, there's Legend of Wukong too, but the latter is too new, dumping and releasing it would be very bad manner...

So depressing, especially all those unconfirmed and bad GBA. If I had the money I'd buy all of the GBA ones right away and solve these :(

I wish I had more backup units, out of those lists I own:

GBC:
Blaster Master - Enemy Below
Toki Tori
Towers: Lord Baniff's Deceit
Yars' Revenge

NES:
Miracle Piano (E)
F15 City War PAL (HES)

32X:
Motherbase

Mega Drive:
Blockout
Mutant League Football

also, other systems
Game Master: Bubble Boy, Kung Fu (redumps)
SuperVision: Grand Prix, Hero-Kid, Olympic Trials (redumps)
Mega Duck: Armour Force, Black Forest Tale, Puppet Knight, Bilder-Lexikon, Musik (new system)
Hartung Junior Computer (might be a MegaDuck compatible unit): Deutsch Quiz 1, Deutsch Quiz 2 (new system)
MB Microvision: 4 Gewinnt (new system)

I guess these could only be dumped by disassembling them :/

btw, are there backup units for the Videopac? I've got over a dozen of its games
